Investment portfolio
Synergis Technologies shares a track record of success with our parent company Porton Capital in supporting new and cutting edge technologies, some of which include:
Warwick Audio TechnologiesWarwick Audio Technologies has developed a thin film loudspeaker
technology which is as flexible as paper, can be shaped and is
multi-directional. The technology has a diverse range of applications,
from consumer entertainment markets through to industrial and automotive
usage. It offers vastly superior quality and ease of deployment over
current loudspeaker systems. | |

MicroviskMicrovisk has developed a novel viscometer that can physically
measure pro-thrombin times for blood coagulation. This is
of particularly importance for those on anti-coagulants. The
technology is of particular importance as it enables early
detection of an individual’s tendency to suffer a stroke
or other blood clotting disorder.

Warwick WarpWarwick Warp has developed a series of software
algorithms to enable a more accurate fingerprint
recognition method primarily for the user authentication
and civil access control markets. The software
incorporates non-linear deformation, shading corrections
and third level features to better match fingerprint
data sets. |

Acal EnergyAcal has developed a novel fuel cathode technology
that can dramatically reduce the cost of fuel cell
production, by eliminating the need for precious metals
in cathode manufacture. The technology has the potential
to enable fuel cell systems to run up to five times
longer than is currently possible |
Cellcrypt LimitedCellcrypt is a privately held company based in London, UK. It also
has an office in Foster City, California. Established in 2005, it’s
flagship product, Cellcrypt Communicator™ is a unique solution

Psynova Neurotech LimitedPsynova is the Synergis Seed Fund's first investment. Originating from
the University of Cambridge's Institute of Biotechnology, and associated
with the Cambridge Centre for Neuropsychiatric Research (CCNR),
Psynova is developing a series of biomarkers to both diagnose and better
treat neuropsychiatric conditions such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder,
and other significant mental illnesses. The company is working on
a novel, precise, blood based clinical test for these illnesses to replace
conventional interview and therapy diagnosis. The Synergis Seed Fund
is providing the first tranche of an anticipated overall £2M
commitment from Porton Capital.

Acolyte Biomedica LimitedAcolyte is developing proprietary diagnostic systems for clinical
microbiology. Acolyte's technology significantly reduces diagnosis times significantly,
and helps to identify superbugs such as MRSA. This technology has
been adapted from UK MoD applications developed by the Defence Science
& Technology Laboratory (Dstl). |

|
P2i LimitedWorking closely with Durham University and Dstl, P2i has produced
a revolutionary nanoscale surface coating through a pulsed cold plasma
process, making any material liquid resistant while remaining both
flexible and breathable. |
|
|
Enigma Diagnostics LimitedAnother high value technology emerging from Dstl, Enigma is taking
clinical quality genetic testing from the laboratory into the field
with a robust, portable high speed and accurate laboratory-in-a box
solution that offers high speed, single YES/NO answer analysis in minutes rather than days or weeks. |

HydroVenturi LimitedHydroVenturi is designing and testing new systems for generating sustainable, environmentally friendly, renewable energy. Using no moving parts under water, HydroVenturi's system can generate energy from river and tidal water flow in as little as 2 metres of water. Originating from Imperial College, London, the HydroVenturi system is in trials now and preparing for commercial installations. |
